The Transportation Design Project
Students will model, texture, light and composite a model influenced by transportation design.
The goal of this project is to model from technical reference (blueprints) and accurately represent the
subject. The presentation will include the vehicle rendered and composited with blueprints .In addition, the model should be presented with a turntable animation loop (6 sec.).

The presentation will focus on modeling, lighting and environment. The design can take a decidedly stylized aesthetic approach. However, the project should be modeled from blueprints and then exaggerated or stylized as a departure from a recognizable design.

The transportation project does not require that you model a car, but your first attempt should use simple car blueprints. Once you feel comfortable with the workflow, you can apply the strategy to trains, planes, zeppelins or anything else originally intended to move people.

Note: Anyone taking VCIL 2040 – 3D Motion is welcome to use their transportation model as the subject of the Exploded View Project.

Exploded View… VCIL 2040 Anyone?

Enjoy…
